Experienced Excellence
SAW Paralegal Services was founded by social security specialist Shauna Alexander-Williams. Her journey into the world of Social Security Disability began over 10 years ago when she applied for a case manager position at Binder and Binder.
no clue what Social Security Disability law was but just received my certification in paralegal studies and the ad stated training was provided. During the interview, I was instead offered the Junior Advocate (Client Interviewer) position. My job was to interview potential clients and make the decision to take the case or not; after which, I was responsible for filling our retainers, filing applications or appeals and lastly, writing directives to the assigned case worker to get the case started. Training was said to be 2 -- 3 months before I would interview my first potential client. After the first week of training, I asked for an interview of my own, Supervisor shocked tested and saw I was capable, asked his superiors that told me to wait a little. By the end of the second week I asked again and was told he is waiting for a simple case. Three (3) weeks later I conducted my first interview (nervous but did it without showing nerves) and within 3 months I was second in command in the Junior Advocate position. I say that to say this, I am not afraid of challenges, I take them on willingly. I decided to freelance in 2015 and noticed at the time there were only writing jobs. Unfortunately, I was never taught to write pre-hearing or appeals council briefs. I decided to search google and read a variety of hearing briefs-teaching myself to write. I applied for the job the next day, was given a sample case to write a brief for before I was offered the position, long story short I was offered the job and now writing briefs have become one of my strongest skill. SAW Paralegal Services started a few months later with $0. I emailed every attorney I found on Yahoo or Google and called everyone I could. After getting hundreds of rejections, I finally got a yes and SAW Paralegal Services officially began, I had my first client. I do not shy away from hard work, I take them square on. For where there is a will I know there is a way once I stay dedicated, patient and true to my goals. In May of 2018, I took the EDPNA exam and passed, I will soon be eligible for direct from the Social Security Administration. I love learning and only death will stop my desire for knowledge. I would love to learn about you, your company, your goals and how my services can make it all possible, let’s talk (813-773-4975).
